چکیده

Abstract In Southeast Asian countries, the cocoa pod borer ( Conopomorpha cramerella ) is a significant pest that can cause damage to production. A potential method for controlling this use kairomone attractants made from plant extracts. This study aimed determine attractiveness of Carrot Leaf Extract (ElCar) and Coffee (ElCoff) C. . Approximately one hectare plants was used in experiment, observations were with three-day interval two months. The findings demonstrated extracts as effective attracting adult females. No male populations captured during period observation. 116 female adults ElCar, 25 at 5% concentration, 27 10% 64 15% concentration. 100 females ElCoff: 16 51 33 extract concentration contained highest percentage attractant, putting it very high attractant category (86%). coffee found be 10%, which (80%).

Influence of Dolichoderus thoracicus (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) on cocoa pod damage by Conopomorpha cramerella (Lepidoptera: Gracillariidae) in Malaysia

The relationship between abundance of Dolichoderus thoracicus (Smith) and damage to cocoa pods caused by Conopomorpha cramerella Snellen was examined in a series of experiments. Pods were harvested from ant-abundant and ant-scarce plots and categorized into fully extractable, partially extractable and unextractable, the last category reflecting the most severe degree of C. cramerella infestatio...
